The Ghosts of Young Nicks head

The weather at Young Nicks Head was stormy with rain, thunder and lighting. With the window rattling away at the top story of the old house. Then flashes of lightning flashed in the room and lit the corners up of the room. Joe counted the seconds between the lightning and the thunder. The thunder which was shaking up above the house. Then all of a sudden the power went out. Alec spoke  it’s probably a power cut and the lightning had struck the power lines.

Next there was a loud knock on the front door, with a black, shadowy, round object at the door. Joe said to the door loud enough to hear on the other side “hello”. Joe opened the door. There standing in black gumboots, with a rain coat was a stranger. Next Joe's dad walked to the door. The stranger said to Alec since there is a power cut I thought that you might want some candles and some oil lamps. The oil lamps were rusty and old. The candles were used but still had some wax. Joe’s dad said to the stranger “thank you”. The stranger said that these will last you the whole night and maybe tomorrow night if the power is still out. Then Joe’s mum said you must come in for a cup of tea. But he said no thank you but, Joe’s mum insisted to have a cuppa. The stranger had walked away in the distance. All that Joe and his parents, Eddie could see was a dark, black spot in the distance. Then they lit the oil lamps and the candles on a sourcer. Joe and eddie had a candle each. Alec Joe’s dad had a oil lamp and so did Joe’s mum.

Production Diary Part 3

Friday 15 of August
Dear Diary, hi it’s me again for a update on our production. Today we did our production practice in the hall, on the stage. I had to hold up a blue sheet for the dancers, so they could do their dance we have a visitor today. It is Leo, Mr Moriarty’s son. Everyone was excited to be in the hall to practice. There was ups and downs. Some people were still a bit quiet and so are saying their lines very fast.  Liam was back from being sick. So his group told him what we were doing now. Mrs Miller was at the back of the hall to see if she could hear us all on the stage. At the end of production practice everyone got positive feedback. Then it was time to get our morning tea.

The Legend Of The Seven Whales

There once was a Tohunga who was an expert of any skill and art who lived in the east of the North Island. The face of the Tohunga was covered in tattoos. He also looks after seven whales. Their names are Tahutoria,Takitaki, Hikunui, who was the youngest whale of them all, Tuhara, Korito, Onepoto and Iwitea. They would all go and ask all the other fish in the sea if they had any news.

So they set off to see the other fish for some news. That was their responsibility. Takitaki preferred the Dolphins. Tahutoria liked to talk to other whales. Korito spoke to the Sharks. Onepoto talked to the Swordfish. Tuhara chatted to the Snapper and the Silver Frostfish. Iwitea gathered the news from the groper and the john dory. Hikunui got the news from the paua, with the Mable fish following him.
One morning when the whales were heading out to sea they realised that Hikinui was not with them . Only Iwitea and Tuhara could be seen swimming out of Waiatai. Then suddenly Tohunga came out of nowhere and spoke to the whales saying, “you whales are in big trouble. If you are not out to the ocean by the time the sun rises, you will be really sorry.”

The sun had risen and the whales were not out to sea. So Tohunga striked the whales with lightning and with a big clap of thunder, they were turned into mountains. Now you can see the whales just east of Wairoa. Tuhutoria, Takitaki, Korito and Onepoto are the closest to the sea. Hikunui is fast asleep in the Waiatai Valley.

Production Diary Part 2

Thursday 14 of August

Dear Diary, hi it’s me again for a update on our production. Production practice once again. It’s annoying reading my lines out over and over again . It’s boring but I have to do it. The dance that we do is fun. It gets annoying having to do it all the time. Sometimes I want to dozy off like the John Dory. We are getting better and getting louder with our lines. We are also getting a lot better at our dances and getting in time with the beat and each other. Mrs Miller and Mr Moriarty love it so far.

Production Diary Part 1

Dear Diary, let me introduce myself. My name is Jared and my role in the production is a Silver Frostfish. The production is about legends. Our legend that our class is doing is the legend of the seven whales. When Mr Moriarty told the whole class that we were doing a production I thought to myself, not another one. Do I really have to? Something that is cool is that you get the have the afternoon off from doing some school work. I know my lines off by heart. Something that is very awesome is that you come on stage to a song. My song that the Silver Frostfish and Snapper get on stage to is Wipe Out. Then the song that we dance off to is beyond the sea.

Waking Up In The Morning

Oh no it’s 7.00 looking at my alarm clock. Time to get up I thought to myself. Oh It’s Monday morning. Getting out of bed I feel tired and don’t want to go to school. I have to go to school to learn. Then I doze off for about 5 minutes. Oh, school I better get ready. My sister was having  breakfast. She was eating marmite on toast. I had some toast with butter. Then I quickly walked back down the hallway to my room and got dressed. I squeezed some toothpaste onto my toothbrush. I brush up and down on my teeth. Then brush my hair.

Then I walk to the dining room to unplug my computer. I put it in the case and zip it up. Secondly I put it in my bag gently. I put my lunch into my lunch box. Click, click goes the clips to lock my lunch box. Next I fill my drink bottle with cold water out of the tap. Next I put it in my bag. Then I grab my glasses from my bedroom and put them in my bag. Finally I grab my book packet and put that in my bag. Mum asked, “are you ready to go” ? We replied yes.

Mum unlocked the shed. Then started up the car and reversed out of the shed and on to the driveway. Our Car is a Honda Accord. Then I put my bag in the car. My sister does the same thing. Finally mum locked the shed door, locked the front door. Then I say good bye to Sam and Ninja. We got in the car and closed the doors. We all put our seatbelts on. Then mum started up the car. Mum let the car warm up. Then we drove off to school.
