Cup Experiment

I predict that the normal plastic cup will work.
I predicted that the wine glasses won't work.
I reckon the coffee cup will work.
I reckon the tall glass will work.
The little coffee cup I

reckon will work.
The square is glass I think won't work.
I predict the thermos cup will work.
I predict  that it won't work with the paper because if you get paper wet.

Conclusion my hypothesis was incorrect. I thought because they are different types of cups that they would not work. I  thought the cups that would not work where the wine glasses, the square glass and the rest I thought was going to work. the other cups  that I thought that would work did work and the wine glasses worked. I was pretty surprised about that they all worked.

Results the water stayed in the cups they worked because there was a vacuum in the cup which is a seal around the cup. Vacuum is a seal which sealed the cup so no air can get in.  Some people on the first go push hard or not hard  enough.  The variable did not change the only thing that we changed were the different cups. The amount of water that we used was one quarter of the cup filled with water. The experiment also involved gravity because the gravity was trying to pull it down. Gravity is a force. You also have air pressure coming from the bottom of the cup and also from the top of the cup, you get double air coming from the top of the cup as well of coming from the bottom. The suction from the glass made a seal like the vacuum. When you turn it upside down the air can't get back in. The air is pushing on the top and the bottom.
