Image Writing

I was paddling my boat in the ocean. I was 5km out from shore. Suddenly I felt very tired and fell asleep. 2 hours later I had woken up. Then I stood up on my boat. In the bottom of my feet I could not feel any rocking. I thought I must be in very calm waters. looking around, I had arrived at an island, “but where on earth am I?” “Come in, come in do you copy?” I said to my walky talky. There was no reply.
I got out my phone to see if there was any reception  “but there wasn't any”.

So I decided to set up camp. I found some dry moss, some branches, leaves and a stick. It took a long time to build but at least I have shelter. I grab some of the moss that I collected earlier. I grabbed the stick and went right and left again until the moss started burning. 5 minutes later of hard work it had lit.

I thought to myself I  better quickly get some dinner. I found a stream. I looked really hard to see if I could find any fish. “There!”  I quickly grabbed it. It started jumping everywhere. I lost it. I struggled to hold it because it was so slippery from coming out of the water. I had caught a salmon.

I had finally got back to my shelter. Looking out to the mountains the sun started to go down below the horizon. I said  to myself it is time for bed.

The following morning I had got up. All of a sudden I hear someone calling “are you there, are you there?” “Copy that”. The man on the other side of the line replied “who are you”? I replied saying my name is Jared. They said back “my name is Mark”. “Are you lost”? I said “I am well intruely lost”. “I will help you ok” “ok”  “Can you give me a description of the island, so we can send a rescue helicopter to come and rescue you” “Sure I can”

“ok” “ it is very bushy, it has tall pine trees”. “Hang on I need to get a piece paper and a pen”. “Is that all you can give me”. “Yes” “ok”.

1 hour later they had found me and some man came down on a winch and a harness. He gave me a harness and were winched up to the helicopter. We flew back to the station. I was very happy to be rescued.             boat.gif

A Blood Story

It was just before dinner. We were having pizza. My sister was teasing me with a slice that she had taken off my plate. I felt very angry at her when she took the slice.

I chased her all around the backyard. 5 minutes later she had finally given up. Then she said “here you go.” I said next time I will get your piece of pizza. I went to grab it but she started running again with it. That’s when I fell over and grassed my head.

Then it started bleeding. I walked inside to mum, she helped me clean it up with disinfectant. I put it on cotton buds. It took 5 minutes to clean it all up. Finally it stopped bleeding. It was sore for a while. It felt like I had bumped my head on something. It gave me a headache all night.

In the morning it wasn't as sore. The next day I went to school. Everyone in my class asked me  “what did you do to your head?” I said it was a long story. So I told all of them. Then I had to write about something that I did in the weekend. I thought to myself I know what I am going to write about. So I wrote about my accident all with thanks to the help of my sister.

The Best Part Of Me

I love my tongue. It is a human tool that everyone can use. You have little things on it called taste buds. That is how you can taste food.

It helps you move your food around in your mouth when you are chewing food. If you didn't have a tongue people wouldn't be able to understand you.

My tongue helps me pronounce my words properly so people can understand me when I talk. When I am cooking a meal for my family, my tongue helps me to get the perfect flavour so my family will enjoy my cooking. When my sister is being cheeky I can poke my tongue at her.

I like eating and cooking and my tongue helps me do both of those things.

Production Diary Part 4

Today we were once again practicing for our production. The whole of Nga Rakau Nui was in the hall. I was sitting on a bench seat that was close to the stage. Then the first legend started. It was room 19 and 12. Their legend is called Rangi and Papa. Then 45 minutes later I had to go to the optometrist for an eye check on the rehearsal day , to see if my eyes had changed since last time.

I did the first test was a machine that moves like on top of a gearbox, that scaned your eyes. There was two machines that were welded to the table.  The pictures were excellent said the lady that operated the machine. You had to look at this picture of a red house.  Then on to the second machine on the table . On the other one you had to look, into it and it would show this red dot that would flash on and off. It would eventually take a picture of your eyes. Then I  had to wait for a little bit for the optometrist to finish, with the client that was in there. Then we walked into this room that had a mirror by the door and a tv on the other side of the room. Standing by the wall was a chair and a machine which I did not know what it did. He said that my eyes hadn't changed.

Legedary Reflection

Something I was pleased with was my line because I remembered it every night.
I really enjoyed learning our dance because it is different.

Something I found hard was saying my line to the audience because they were all looking at you on stage.
Something that made me think was to perform well.
Something I want to get better at is saying my line.

My favourite part of the production was watching all the other classes preform.

My best bit of feedback for the production was from my parent
They said to me that it was a great production.

The Ghosts of Young Nicks head

The weather at Young Nicks Head was stormy with rain, thunder and lighting. With the window rattling away at the top story of the old house. Then flashes of lightning flashed in the room and lit the corners up of the room. Joe counted the seconds between the lightning and the thunder. The thunder which was shaking up above the house. Then all of a sudden the power went out. Alec spoke  it’s probably a power cut and the lightning had struck the power lines.

Next there was a loud knock on the front door, with a black, shadowy, round object at the door. Joe said to the door loud enough to hear on the other side “hello”. Joe opened the door. There standing in black gumboots, with a rain coat was a stranger. Next Joe's dad walked to the door. The stranger said to Alec since there is a power cut I thought that you might want some candles and some oil lamps. The oil lamps were rusty and old. The candles were used but still had some wax. Joe’s dad said to the stranger “thank you”. The stranger said that these will last you the whole night and maybe tomorrow night if the power is still out. Then Joe’s mum said you must come in for a cup of tea. But he said no thank you but, Joe’s mum insisted to have a cuppa. The stranger had walked away in the distance. All that Joe and his parents, Eddie could see was a dark, black spot in the distance. Then they lit the oil lamps and the candles on a sourcer. Joe and eddie had a candle each. Alec Joe’s dad had a oil lamp and so did Joe’s mum.

Production Diary Part 3

Friday 15 of August
Dear Diary, hi it’s me again for a update on our production. Today we did our production practice in the hall, on the stage. I had to hold up a blue sheet for the dancers, so they could do their dance we have a visitor today. It is Leo, Mr Moriarty’s son. Everyone was excited to be in the hall to practice. There was ups and downs. Some people were still a bit quiet and so are saying their lines very fast.  Liam was back from being sick. So his group told him what we were doing now. Mrs Miller was at the back of the hall to see if she could hear us all on the stage. At the end of production practice everyone got positive feedback. Then it was time to get our morning tea.

Wonder Art

This is my Wonder art. It is from the book called Wonder. My character is August. He is the main character.

The Legend Of The Seven Whales

There once was a Tohunga who was an expert of any skill and art who lived in the east of the North Island. The face of the Tohunga was covered in tattoos. He also looks after seven whales. Their names are Tahutoria,Takitaki, Hikunui, who was the youngest whale of them all, Tuhara, Korito, Onepoto and Iwitea. They would all go and ask all the other fish in the sea if they had any news.

So they set off to see the other fish for some news. That was their responsibility. Takitaki preferred the Dolphins. Tahutoria liked to talk to other whales. Korito spoke to the Sharks. Onepoto talked to the Swordfish. Tuhara chatted to the Snapper and the Silver Frostfish. Iwitea gathered the news from the groper and the john dory. Hikunui got the news from the paua, with the Mable fish following him.
One morning when the whales were heading out to sea they realised that Hikinui was not with them . Only Iwitea and Tuhara could be seen swimming out of Waiatai. Then suddenly Tohunga came out of nowhere and spoke to the whales saying, “you whales are in big trouble. If you are not out to the ocean by the time the sun rises, you will be really sorry.”

The sun had risen and the whales were not out to sea. So Tohunga striked the whales with lightning and with a big clap of thunder, they were turned into mountains. Now you can see the whales just east of Wairoa. Tuhutoria, Takitaki, Korito and Onepoto are the closest to the sea. Hikunui is fast asleep in the Waiatai Valley.

Production Diary Part 2

Thursday 14 of August

Dear Diary, hi it’s me again for a update on our production. Production practice once again. It’s annoying reading my lines out over and over again . It’s boring but I have to do it. The dance that we do is fun. It gets annoying having to do it all the time. Sometimes I want to dozy off like the John Dory. We are getting better and getting louder with our lines. We are also getting a lot better at our dances and getting in time with the beat and each other. Mrs Miller and Mr Moriarty love it so far.

Production Diary Part 1

Dear Diary, let me introduce myself. My name is Jared and my role in the production is a Silver Frostfish. The production is about legends. Our legend that our class is doing is the legend of the seven whales. When Mr Moriarty told the whole class that we were doing a production I thought to myself, not another one. Do I really have to? Something that is cool is that you get the have the afternoon off from doing some school work. I know my lines off by heart. Something that is very awesome is that you come on stage to a song. My song that the Silver Frostfish and Snapper get on stage to is Wipe Out. Then the song that we dance off to is beyond the sea.

Waking Up In The Morning

Oh no it’s 7.00 looking at my alarm clock. Time to get up I thought to myself. Oh It’s Monday morning. Getting out of bed I feel tired and don’t want to go to school. I have to go to school to learn. Then I doze off for about 5 minutes. Oh, school I better get ready. My sister was having  breakfast. She was eating marmite on toast. I had some toast with butter. Then I quickly walked back down the hallway to my room and got dressed. I squeezed some toothpaste onto my toothbrush. I brush up and down on my teeth. Then brush my hair.

Then I walk to the dining room to unplug my computer. I put it in the case and zip it up. Secondly I put it in my bag gently. I put my lunch into my lunch box. Click, click goes the clips to lock my lunch box. Next I fill my drink bottle with cold water out of the tap. Next I put it in my bag. Then I grab my glasses from my bedroom and put them in my bag. Finally I grab my book packet and put that in my bag. Mum asked, “are you ready to go” ? We replied yes.

Mum unlocked the shed. Then started up the car and reversed out of the shed and on to the driveway. Our Car is a Honda Accord. Then I put my bag in the car. My sister does the same thing. Finally mum locked the shed door, locked the front door. Then I say good bye to Sam and Ninja. We got in the car and closed the doors. We all put our seatbelts on. Then mum started up the car. Mum let the car warm up. Then we drove off to school.

Cameron's Uncle's Skype Call From The Village

The 2014 Commonwealth Games are in Glasgow, Scotland. This morning at 9.00 room 6 and 8 interviewed him from the Commonwealth village. Over in Scotland was 10.00. We were very lucky to talk to Craig Palmer which is Cameron’s and Thomas’s uncle. He is in Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games

We asked him questions about the Commonwealth Games. A girl from room 8 asked “how many Commonwealth Games have you been to?” He answered back saying
“I have  been in two Commonwealth Games , In 2006 I went to Melbourne, Australia, so this is my second time going to the Commonwealth Games.”

His job is being a cyclist scientist. He collects the details to make a training program. He told us that the bikes do not  have any spokes. The bikes are very light and are made out of carbon fibre. Carbon fibre is very light and strong. Carbon fibre makes things go faster because it is very light. He also makes sure, that he gets the best out of the bikes and to make the bikes more aerodynamic.

The Commonwealth Games go for at least two weeks , or just short of two weeks. There are approximately about 320 athletes (or just short) from New Zealand that are competing in the Commonwealth Games. He meets with other athletes from New Zealand in different sports. The racing starts Friday morning New Zealand time. In Scotland it would start Thursday. The length of the velodrome track is 250 metres long. The athletes train for most of their lives. They also train every day.

He even showed us the Scottish mascot. It had a kilt and a white Scottish hat. The Commonwealth Games is, all the countries that the queen owns. Craig, Cameron and Thomas’s uncle showed us the Commonwealth Games village with all the rooms for the athletes to stay in. Then in a little white tent outside there was some spa pools. Then Miss H asked Craig to show us all that it was ten o'clock at night in Glasgow. So he showed us out the window to see the village and the sky. Since Scotland is so close to the North Pole, was still a lot of light in the sky.

Mars part 2

I grabbed the bottle of water so ,Ninja ,Sam and me could have a drink. By half way the water was all gone. So I locked everything in my rocket. Then we all  walked into the distance. I was looking back every now and then to see my rocket. It took 4 hours to walk to Morts house. We eventually got there. Me, Ninja and Sam were really tired from walking for 4 hours. Morts wasn't tired.

Then we got to the door and knocked. Then a old lady answered the door. Mort said that it was his grandma. We walked in the door. I said what a beautiful house you have here. Its fantastic isn't it said Morts grandma. I was the last in so I shut the door. Then Mort introduced us. This is Jared. Ninja the cat. Sam the dog. They are from planet Earth. Then Morts family started to  introduced themselves to us. Hi im Bobby Morts dad. You can call me Bob for short. I'm Betty,Morts grandma. Im Darrell his grandpa. Hello im Michelle morts aunt. Hi Jared im Tom. “Its a pleasure to meet you all” I spoke. Would you like something to drink asked Morts grandma. I replied saying yes please. Ninja and Sam do you want something. Yes I'll have a drink of water. I,ll have it two please. Make that three drinks of water. “Ok” said Betty. 2 minutes later Betty comes back with 2 bowls and 1 glass cup filled with water. I skulled it back because I was really thirsty from the 4 hour walk.

Then all of Morts family asked me,Ninja and Sam if we could stay for tea. I said what are you going to cook for tea. You can pick what you want for tea. I said do you like pasta. They all said we do. Fish do you like that. Yes they replied. Cheese yep. Creamy pasta sauce yes. Ok lets make Tuna bake pasta. Or should we use Salmon. I said why don't we use both. Everyone agreed on that. I ended up not using the food that I took with me. So we did end up having that for dinner. 20 minutes later it was finished baking in the oven for 20 minutes. I sliced it up into how much everyone wanted. I had the biggest piece because I was the guest. It was delicious. Creamy, cheesy, juicy and full of flavour. Everyone said you can cook again for all of us some time again. “Thank you everyone” I said. Then Betty asked if she could have the recipe. So I wrote it down on a piece of paper.“Thank you said Betty”.“You are welcome”. Well I have to go in the morning to go back to the planet Earth. So we stayed the night at Morts house.

Then I woke up on the couch and got up. I woke up to smelling bacon sizzling. Darrell was cooking some yummy streaky bacon. He said would you like some bacon and I said yes please. Can Ninja and Sam have some bacon too. He replied they sure can. Then he was cooking scrambled eggs. He put some salt and pepper into the the eggs. Then some milk. Finally they were scrambled. Then everyone else that was a sleep got up and walked to the kitchen table. Then Betty made some pancakes. They were cooked. Then Betty got the golden syrup. Then I ate all of my breakfast up. Sam and Ninja ate all of there bacon. Then I said we better go now back to planet earth. So I said goodbye to everyone and said its nice meeting you all. Everyone said bye.

So 4 hours later walking back to the spaceship. Then we grabbed all of our stuff. Then put it all in the rocket. Back up to the cabin. Then I made sure that the door was sealed. Then locked it. Then we blasted of the planet Mars back to Earth. 7 months later we have arrived back on planet Earth. Ninja and Sam said awesome we are home.

Mars Part1

I am just going to finish fueling my rocket. Im going up there for only 1 earth day. I have build a fridge and cupboard in my rocket. Im going to grab 100kg of oxygen for me. Ninja and Sam get 95 kgs of oxygen. Now for 55 liters of water in a big plastic bottle. I will take some sausages, potatoes, cheese, chicken ,basil, bread, eggs and finally crackers. Some pots as well. I will take a small gas bottle and stove with me so I can cook. Its time to launch my rocket. I climb up the ladder to my rocket and I put the water in the fridge. Then the cheese, sausages, basil, chicken into the fridge as well. Then I put the crackers and potatoes in the cupboard. Then I go back upstairs and grab my cat and dog food. I climb up again and walk over to the cupboard and put them by the crackers. Then down the ladder, upstairs again to get my cat and dog. I take my cat up the ladder. My pets beds. Then put it just inside the door. Then down the ladder once more to grab my dog. I grabbed the chain and attached it to his collar. Locked all the doors and back up the ladder to my rocket with my dog. Shut the door and make sure that it is sealed. Started up the rockets and waited for them to warm up. I blasted off the ground at 600km, on the way up I start to come through the clouds and its a bit blurry.

Then suddenly there was an alien that was red. It had red fur covering from head to toe. He had a green tail. His eyes were light blue. Then I spoke to it and I said hi. Im not sure if hes a boy or a girl. It spoke back and said hello. “What is your name”. He replied back i'm Mort. “Hi im Jared”. “Are you a boy or a girl” I spoke. He got scared because he saw Sam. Sam yelled out hi. He sprinted to see what the red object was by me. “Who is that” said Sam. Its Mort, he lives on Mars. Oh. How old are you I said.” I'm 5” said Mort. Then I introduced everyone. This is Mort. Mort this is Sam. Then Ninja walked out of his bed to see what all the racket was. Then I finally said this is Ninja. Ninja this is mort. He is 5 years old. Do you have any parents or any family Ninja asked. Yeah I have got a dad, brother, nana, aunt and a grandad. It is just me, Ninja and Sam that came. Where is all of your family I asked Mort. There at my house. My dad told me to go play outside,so I did. Thats when I discovered your rocket here. “Ok” I replied. Where is your house asked Ninja. Can you all see that yellow dot in the distance. Yes is that your house I asked . Mort said it was. Ok we all said. Do you allow guests at your house. I think so. Then Mort asked us a question. He asked what planet are you from. We replied saying we are from planet Earth. So you're our neighbor. Yeah I guess so. So you're a human then Jared. Yes and Ninja is a cat. Sam is a dog.

Matariki Art

This is my Matariki art. What I used was a plain piece of paper. Then I dyed the piece of paper. Then I let it dry. Then get another piece of paper and drew 7 stars on the paper and dyed it. Let it dry. Cut the stars out and glue them where ever you want on the dyed paper. Then draw a bird that is like a person on a piece of paper. Cut it out. Glue it on like the stars.

Mid Year Reflection

Something I enjoyed learning was that matau is left and maui is left.

Something I want to learn more about cars.

Something Im proud of is getting stuff published on my blog.

Something That is better being in a digital classroom is that you write on Google Drive.
My favourite sentence in my writing so far is. He could be dangerous so don’t approach him.
Something I learnt was how to play rakau games on the matariki workshops day

My favourite book so far is Wonder.

My favourite maths We did our shopping at Countdown online. We had $250 to spend on grocery,s for our family and counting our pets.

For genius hour you get to pick your own topic that you are passionate about. My subject that I'm doing for genius hour is about production cars and utes.

My favourite writing:
I could taste the fresh air. The taste of the wood was sweet. The wood felt like sandpaper when I licked it. I could touch the grass it felt moist and soft . I could smell the moisture lurking in the air. I could taste the fence it tasted like cold metallic that had a few drips of water. The grass was frosty because Jack Frost had been. I could see trees, some were green and some were yellow and orange. I also saw some palms the were a nice bright green. Behind the trees I could see Te Mata Peak and all the surrounding hills. Some had little patches of green  grass and some had big patches. Some even have gigantic patches of pine trees. The color of the trees is a black brownish color. I could see all sorts of cars they were a Suzuki Swift, Toyota Corolla, Mitsubishi Diamante, Mazda Cx 9, Toyota Caravan, Holden Commodore and a Mitsubishi Evo 10. Evo is short for Evolution.

I could see the giant laying dead and still as a rock on the top of Te Mata Peak. I could hear the sound of a plane. It was noisy and sounded like it was about to take off from the airport. I could see a bird it was squawking as it was flying. In the distance back towards school I could see a corn field that was not quite ripe. In the paddock I could see horses running around. They were a golden brown with a black golden brown wiry tail and mane. Some had white coats on that covered there back and there neck. The houses on the other side of Howard Street from the paddocks were made out of white whether boards of black and red bricks. On the other side of the first wire fence is an electric fence which I got a shock from but I didn't touch it though. I could tell that it was an electric fence because it had a yellow plastic handle thing on it. Under the line of electric wire by the wood post was two black rubbish bags. I could tell that they were full of rubbish. They were bulging out from the sides front and back.

Holt Planetarium Visit

Something I enjoyed was learning about black holes because I didn't know that there was different types of black holes.

Something I found interesting was that the suns heat goes through the clouds of Venus, then the heat  can’t come back out because It was something I didn't know.

The most exciting thing about space is stars because I would like to learn more about the solar systems.

“How do stars in the universe have an impact impact on us?”
I want the rest of my inquiry topic to be about is the solar system.`

Why are the planets all different temperatures?

Waka

Today Room 6 drove to Clive river to go for a waka ride. We had parents to drive us there. They were Maia s dad ,Georges mum and some other parents. I went with Maia’s dad. His car is a Honda Odyssey. I went with Maia’s dad and  Maia,Julius,Brooklyn and Mary.

We left school. It took us about 20 minutes to drive to Clive. We had to turn off at Fremden road. Then spot the rowing club sign. Turn down the stone drive. Then over the bank, turned right and on to some grass. Then we parked. Then we got out off the cars. We waited for Mr Moriarty to come. He finally arrived with Julius’s nan.

Then we all stood around waiting till we could go on the waka. Some people were excited and some were nervous. I was one of the nervous people. Then we all ran over to get a life jacket each and put them on. Then we walked over to an adult to see if the life jackets were tight enough. Then some of room 6 discovered that there was a whistle on them and they started to blow them. Mr Moriarty got sick of it so he blew his whistle. Then he told us to come over to him. Room 6 did.

Then Jim Edwards the waka leader was telling us bit of a story. Then Jim showed us some weapons. They were sharp. One of them had a head carved into it. The one that had a head on it the people that they were fighting against thought they going to throw it because it was sharp but they didn't. Instead they would use the other end to whack the other people. This other one had a triangle on a stick.

These were the commands Jim gave us were Kia riti which means get ready. Tokihi which means work together and maintaining the rhythm. The third one hoe which means paddle. The fourth one whakamutu which means stop. Ta papa lean forward. Tipuna means ancestors. The ancestors were carved on the side of the waka. Tumatauenga which means god of the war.

Then all room 6 got a piece of carpet. Then we climbed aboard the waka in the Clive River. The water was murky. Sometimes we would stop paddling and hold up our hoe straight into the air pointing to the sky. Then do a pukana. We paddled under and past Clive bridge. We paddled past lots of houses along the way. Then we had to turn around and come back. We had some help from Jim. Then all of room 6 and the parents started to paddled in reverse for a few minutes. As we were paddling forward again there were patches of weed in the water and sticking above. We paddled under and past the bridge once more. Then we had to turn again. But this time we had to do it by ourselves without the help of Jim. The people on the left side of the waka had to paddle with the backside of the paddle out so it was facing to the bank. The people on the right side had to put the green and white side, pointing to the other bank on the other side, pushing out like the people on the left.

Then we arrived back at where room 6 started. We hopped off the waka. Walked over the little bridge. Room 6 took off their life jackets and put them back into the boxes where we found them. We hopped back into the cars that we came in and drove back to school. It took about 20 minutes again. He waka eke noa, which means we are all in the waka together.

The hardest part was paddling backwards. The fun part was paddling. Something I learnt was the waka weighs 6 tons on its own.

The Elephants Child Retell

There once was a elephant who asked really curious questions. In his family there was his mum, Aunt Hippopotamus,Uncle Baboon, Aunty Kuko bird and his Uncle Giraffe. The question he asked his mum was what do crocodiles have for dinner?. Then his mum would spank him. Then asked his Aunt Hippopotamus and he got another spank from his aunt. He asked Uncle Baboon, aunty bird and uncle giraffe and they all spanked him as well. They spanked him till he was red all over. After that they all said if you want to find out what they have for dinner. He had only a little nose. Yes I do. Well go to the river than and you will see replied his mum. So the elephants child set of on a journey to the river.

On the way to the river he walked past lots of trees. He took some food with him. All he took with him was 100 rockmelon, 10 coconuts and 40 bananas with him. He travelled a long way through the middle of Africa to get to the river.

On the way he meet a rock python snake was wrapped around a rock in the mud by the river. The elephant's child asked the rock python and said what do crocodiles have for dinner. The  elephants child spoke to the snake and said please don't spank me please I have been spanked by all of my family. Suddenly the rock python snake spanked the elephants child. The python said go over to the river and see for yourself.

So the elephants child did and he meet a crocodile. Then asked the crocodile what do you have for dinner asked the elephants child. The crocodile replied and said come a little closer. So the elephant's child did. The crocodile said come even closer and the elephant did come closer. Then again the elephant moved even closer. Once more again the elephant moved closer. The next second the crocodile snap his jaws wide open and got hold of the elephants childs little nose. Then both the crocodile and the elephant pulled. The elephants childs nose started to stretch more and more.Suddenly the rock python said to the elephant I will come and help you pull. They were both pulling so hard that the elephant nose was so sore it was red. Finally the crocodile let go of the elephants paw nose. He managed to get his nose out with the help of the rock python. Then thanked the python for helping him.

The python started to talk to the elephant and said look you have got advantages. The python said advantage number 1 you are spraying water on your back to keep you nice and cool. He could now also put on a mud cap on. Advantage number 2 you can grab leaves to eat of the trees. You couldn't do that before could you. No replied the elephants child. Once more the python said advantage number 3 now you can spank. Oh I can go and spank my family now because they spanked me hard. Now I will spank my family even harder than they did to me. So the elephants child set off back to where he came from. With him he took a lot of  leaves rock melon and some sugar cane He took lots of leaves and rockmelon, sugar cane with him on his journey back to where he had come from. After a long time crossing the middle of Africa he finally arrived home. He started to spank his aunt hippopotamus, uncle graffe, his mum and his uncle baboon. He didn't let anyone touch his aunty kuko bird. Then after that all his family wanted a nose like that. They all asked the elephant where did you get that nose from. The elephant replied saying go see the crocodile at the river where I walked to on the other side of Africa. So some of his family set off and went to the same river as he did. So now all the elephants you see now have a long nose which is called a trunk.
